Mini Skills First Aid Course

This course is designed for the younger age groups to keep them interested and involved with the learning. This course will actively involve the children allowing them to move around and try techniques taught to them. They will also receive prizes throughout the course to help encourage and motivate them. The syllabus has been created to accommodate 6 – 12 year olds according to the First Aid regulations. This course will cover all the essential areas of first aid that would help a child to save a person’s life with confidence.

Our aim with this course is to be able to equip every child under the age of 12 in the UK with the skill to save lives. The UK government is currently discussing the possibility of creating a new mandatory requirement for all education centres to provide a certain level of First Aid Training to all children under the age of 12.

This course will be split into four sections:

• Introduction – 10 minutes
• Main – 50 minutes – covering DRAB
        – Danger
        – Response
        – Airways
        – Breathing
• This will also cover the recover position and making the 999 call
• Care of a unconscious person
• Close – 15 minutes
        – Refresh
        – Question and answer
• Graduation – 15 minutes – Each student is called up and awarded their certificate and a pocket first aid kit.

Course Duration:
Our course size is kept at a maximum of 25 students per session, which may be split over a day or a few weeks.
